AREVA CEO Anne Lauvergeon, a member of the delegation joining French President Nicolas Sarkozy on his visit to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), has signed an agreement with Congolese Minister of Mines, Martin Kabwelulu, on uranium prospecting and mining. AREVA says the DRC’s “size and geographical profile have given it major uranium reserves.”
