Continuing our reports from the visit to Sao Paulo, Liugong may still be a new name to many but it will not remain so for long. It is already the second largest manufacturer of wheel loaders in the world, it claims, and has aggressive ambitions. “Our wheel loaders represent the pinnacle of our knowledge and technical know-how,” said Jim Donoghue, President, LiuGong Latin America. “These machines offer exactly what customers need, which is proven technology and incomparable durability. Anyone looking at a wheel loader purchase must look at LiuGong, because we know wheel loaders better than anyone.”
Unlike some of its local Chinese competitors, Liugong is very strong on customer support and has already built an extensive dealer network across Latin America. Its CLG899II is the largest wheel loader made in China. The six models below this cover bucket capacities from 0.78 to 4.5 m3. LiuGong equipment is easy to own and easy to operate, as the company aims to excel in providing features that customers demand, but also with a focus on using only well-proven technologies that are easy to service. The result is highly durable machines that stand up to the rigours of tough operating environments. Other machines in the product line include dozers, hydraulic excavators and graders.
In 1995, LiuGong partnered with the German transmission components manufacturer ZF Friedrichshafen AG, purchasing 49% of the company. This allowed LiuGong to better equip its products by manufacturing transmissions and axles on site at its own factories. In response to growing demand, LiuGong opened offices in India and North America in 2007 and now has its first manufacturing plant in India.
