Reducing blasting costs in challenging economic times

The Quarry Academy program has become one of the defining elements of the Sandvik/Dyno Nobel Alliance in North America. In order to build upon the success of the first three Academies (2005, 2007 and 2008) and with current economic conditions top of mind, the alliance has decided to hold the fourth Quarry Academy at Sandvik’s North American Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, November 3-5, 2009. Once again, Sandvik and Dyno Nobel have assembled a team of subject matter experts (with over 200 years of combined national and international experience in quarry and mining operations) to deliver the latest strategies and solutions for many of the most pressing issues facing the industry today including methods by which to add value and increase profitability. The course will emphasise best practice in unit operations and collective process improvement.

The target audience for the Academy will be quarry owners, operations managers and staff engineers who allocate, manage and influence the people and resources required to improve performance in an open-pit mine or quarry production program. In addition, key distributor personnel who need indepth understanding of the quarrying process/applications will gain valuable insights into the procedures and practices that directly impact their customer’s business.
