Lynas LampsUp-WA rare earths EPC contract

mt-weld.jpgForge Group subsidiary Abesque Engineering has received a Letter of Award for the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning Assistance (EPC) contract for Lynas Corp’s LampsUp-WA project near Laverton in Western Australia. The LampsUp-WA project involves expansion of Lynas’ Mt Weld rare earths concentration plant to increase design throughput capacity from the current 120,000 t to 240,000 t/y.

The contract value is approximately A$36 million, and Abesque’s scope of works under the contract involves the design, supply, installation and provision of commissioning assistance for the expanded processing facilities and associated infrastructure items for the project. Site construction works are planned to commence in February 2012.

Abesque completed the design and construction of the current (Phase 1) Mt Weld concentrator in March this year, also under an EPC contract.
