Allied Nevada signs major new order with FLSmidth

ballmills.jpgFLSmidth has been awarded a contract worth approximately $82 million from the company Allied Nevada Gold to supply equipment and services for its major Hycroft gold mine expansion. Hycroft is located about 200 km north-east of Reno, Nevada. The contract includes delivery of two 38 ft SAG mills and three 26 ft ball mills as well as a 22 ft regrind mill. The plant capacity will be over 100,000 t/d of gold and silver bearing ore. The capacity of the plant will make it the largest concentrator in size, in North America, ever put into operation in a single phase.

Prior orders from Allied Nevada for FLSmidth equipment include a primary gyratory crusher as well as cone crushers for delivery in 2012. “Our One Source approach and our local presence have been important factors in FLSmidth winning this order. The customer has contacted FLSmidth directly and we are glad to be able to offer nearby support and service while also delivering operational capacity which is among the best in the world,” Group CEO Jorgen Huno Rasmussen commented. For the main mining fleet, the company has already ordered 23 930E Komatsu haul trucks, three Hitachi EX5500 and three Caterpillar 7495 hydraulic mining excavators along with ten Atlas Copco PV271 Pit Viper blasthole drills.
